Since its announcement during President Obama’s State of the Union address, “precision medicine” has become the buzzword in the healthcare industry. The ability to better diagnose, cure and prevent disease based on a person’s genetic profile over a “one-size-fits-all” regimen is the seminal foundation of personalized medicine. Its future outlook, though rendered more promising with scientific achievements made over the past decade, is facing a difficult road-map to implementation and adoption in the clinic.
